JAPN 404: Advance Presentational Communication
Course Description:
This course aims to develop advanced proficiency in communication through oral and written presentations to finalize research project for Capstone in Japanese using appropriate media. Taught in Japanese.
Narrative:
JAPN 404 fulfills MLO 4: Research and Technology. In my opinion, this class served as a support for WLC 400. We used this class as supplementary time slot for capstone since we had to share WLC 400’s time with the Spanish majors. We revisited some of the previous things that we had learned the semester before as well as get feedback on our current capstone progress. This class proved invaluable as an asset for our entire graduating class to bounce ideas off each other as well as the teacher. We also did exercises out of a textbook that taught us how to take ordinary everyday Japanese and turn it into academic Japanese. In this class we also looked at examples of previous students’ papers and powerpoints so we could see how to build the framework of our presentations.
